Ryan is joined by Kaleigh Cornelison from the University of Michigan’s Adolescent Health Initiative to discuss brain development.
At the beginning of 2020, I helped organize a workshop on Positive Youth Development practices and as part of that workshop, they discussed the brain development process. From that initial conversation, I’ve been interested in how understanding the brain development process might have a positive impact in the athletic arena. I’ll sit down with Kaleigh and talk about adolescent brain development and dive into why it might be important for coaches, administrators, and youth practitioners to have an understanding of how the brain develops and what they means for the youth that we work with.
